Off the Shelf: It's National Puzzle Month and Library in Bridgeport has More than 200 Jigsaw Puzzles

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 06, 2021 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

January is National Puzzle Month, and the library has a collection of over 200 jigsaw puzzles.  They range from the larger size piece 300 ones to the super challenging 3,000.  I just saw one that was white, no pictures, just white.  Now I like a challenge, but that is too much.  We even have a few 3D puzzles of castles and other famous architectural monuments.

Since we are still limited to contactless pickup and you cannot come in and browse the collection, I recommend that when you call to request books just tell us what type of puzzle you would like.  Americana, scenery, movies, crafting, informational, etc. and we will pick one out for you and include it in your bag. We only let you check out one puzzle at a time because of the worry that puzzle pieces could get mixed (and we would never be able to un-mix them.)  They check out for two weeks and you can renew them.

The collection contains travel puzzles, crafting puzzles, dogs and cats’ puzzles, castle puzzles, movie puzzles, art puzzles, history puzzles, stamp puzzles, quilt puzzles, animal puzzles, etc.  We also have a large collection of Charles Wysocki Americana puzzles including several 300 large piece puzzles.

The library will be continuing its limited hours due to the surge of COVID-19 19 cases until further notice.  You may call and request books and other materials, we will pick them out for you and check them out.  Then we will give you a call and place a bag with your name on it out in the front foyer.  You may also check out our online catalog and make requests from there.  You will need your library card and your pin number which is the last four digits of your library card number.  The foyer is open for pickup from noon until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
