The Bridgeport Public Library will continue our limited schedule until further notice. We will still be providing users with the opportunity to check out books and other physical items via phone and email and then pick them up in the front foyer of the library.  The building will remain closed to the public.

 

The library is making all efforts to protect both staff and patrons in accordance with the City of Bridgeport’s COVID-19 Preparedness Plan.  It has been directed to implement as much social distancing as is feasible keeping both library workers and users as safe as possible.   

 

The library continues to provide access to its physical collections; patrons can call the library at 304-842-8248 and request up to 5 physical items including books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and music CDs.  The library staff will require your name, phone number or email; they will inform you if those materials are available and then will contact you when you can pick them up.  You will need a library card; if you do not have one, the library will give you a temporary one. 

 

Items will be placed in a brown kraft bag on a table in the front foyer of the library with your name written on the bag.  Please only one person at a time in the foyer and wait outside for your turn. 

 

You may also place holds by using the online catalog at www2.youseemore.com/bridgeport/.  To do so it will require your entire library card number.  If you are asked for your pin number, it is the last four digits of your library card number.   

 

We will need at least an hour to pick out your items so please wait until we contact you.  For the next few weeks, the bags in the foyer will be available for pickup from noon until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Because of the New Year’s holiday, the library will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1.
