By Sharon Saye on January 22, 2020 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of January with these 60-degree days, but we have just posted the schedule for February programs so here is an early look.

The Library continues its movie matinees.  On February 7th at 1 p.m., we will be showing the biographical picture, “Harriet,” about Harriet Tubman and starring Cynthia Errivo.  Children can enjoy the animated film, “Arctic Dogs,” on February 7th at 6 p.m.

Valentine’s Day offers a romance with “Love at First Bark” at 1 p.m.  On February 21st, viewers can enjoy “Judy,” the bio-pic story of superstar Judy Garland’s last year.  Renee Zellweger has been nominated for Best Actress for her performance.  It is also at 1 p.m.

And concluding the month is a replay of last year’s Academy Award winning film, “Green Book,” starring Viggo Mortensen.  This is scheduled for February 28th at 1 p.m.

We tried showing movies in the evening, but attendance was very poor.  If you are interested in resuming this, you need to let us know.

Tea & Talk continues throughout February where participants discuss the latest PBS series; currently “Sanditon” based on an unfinished novel by Jane Austen is the topic.  It meets every Monday at 1 p.m.

Colorful Yarns meets on Tuesdays, February 4 and 18th at 6:30 p.m. and the Nesting Knitters meet every Wednesday mornings from 10am to 1ppm.  Anyone interested in knitting, crochet, etc. is welcome to attend.

Bookin’ It includes easy, low-impact aerobics for adults and senior citizens and is scheduled for every Tuesdays at 2 p.m.  This is a good way to meet one of your New Year’s resolutions.

eReader Workshop meets on Thursday, February 6th at 2 p.m.  Registration is required.  Bring your Kindle, iPad or Android device and your library card to learn how to download eBooks, eAudiobooks and digital magazines from the library for free.

A new reading group, Sassenach Sessions, is starting on Thursday, February 27th at 6 p.m. to discuss Diana Gabaldon’s very popular “Outlander” book series; the new TV season starts in February on Starz. The library has previous seasons on DVD.

Book Talk, on Wednesday, February 19th at 4 p.m.,  is reading “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens, the mystery group, Read in Red is discussing “Buried Secrets” by T. J.
