Off the Shelf: New City Library Feature "Browse Bag" Proving to be Hit with Dozens of Requests Already

By Sharon Saye on February 10, 2021 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The library is offering a new service to enhance our contactless pickup option.  Since the public doesn’t have the time or the resources to keep up with the onslaught of books published every year, we thought we would offer our expertise to help with their reading choices.

Our new service is called Browse Bag; it is your opportunity to get a bag of five items curated just for you.  Bags can include books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, and puzzles.  You tell us your preferences and we create the perfect bag for you.

If you are interested in trying a Browse Bag, there is a form to fill out.  We have been putting a copy in every bag we hand out daily or you can go online at tinyurl.com/browsebag to fill it out.

You will then receive a phone call when your Browse Bag is ready for pickup up from the front foyer of the library.  There may be follow-up forms asking how you liked the items in your Browse Bag.  The more information we have, the easier it will be for us to pick items that meet your interests.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have by phone.  You can also contact Savanna at sdraper@bridgeportwv.com for more information.

We have already had 32 requests in just one week, so please be patient, it may take us a day or two.
