By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 27, 2021 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Most of our tax forms have arrived and been placed out in the foyer for anyone to pick-up.  Please only take what you need.  State tax form booklets are available which include the state forms.  Federal forms have arrived, but not yet the instruction booklets.  They are shipping now.

The IRS is sending out only the basic forms and instruction books.  If you need any of their specialized forms, please use their website.
The foyer is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon until 8 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from noon until 5 p.m.

For those who are stuck for something to read, you might want to sample the work of Nancy Pearl.  Nancy is a bestselling author and Seattle librarian whose book, “Book Lust” is a great place to start when looking for reading ideas since it is packed with short articles on everything from books about the Antarctic to mysteries; there are hundreds of book recommendations on a diverse number of topics.

Her new book is “The Writer’s Library: The Authors You Love on the Books That Changed Their Lives,” co-authored by Jeff Schwager.  These two booklovers interviewed 23 of today’s best-known writers from Michael Chabon to Donna Tartt from Russell Banks to Jennifer Egan.  Almost all the interviews were live as they delved into some basic questions such as your favorite books as a child, when did you really start reading, do you read while you are writing, what are your favorite books and authors, who influenced you the most as a writer and what books changed your life.  At the end of every interview is a list of books recommended by the author.

“The Writer’s Library” is a great place to start if you want to up your reading game.
