Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Continues Youth Wrestling Program, Informational Meeting is Tonight

Bridgeport Parks and Recreation is launching its youth wrestling program for ages 5 through15. Practices will be held at the Bridgeport High School field house as the young student athletes prepare for compete in local tournaments.
A meeting will be held tonight at the Benedum Civic Center for interested athletes and parents. An explanation of the program will be provided and coaches will be introduced, said Parks and Recreation Deputy Director Joe Shuttleworth. Meeting time is 6-7 p.m.
Heading up coaching efforts is Shawn Taylor.
Practices will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Nov. 13. Cost for participation in the league is $25 per participant, which includes a T-shirt. Additional fees will be incurred for tournament costs.
