The Harrison County Parks and Recreation opens registration for the Middle and High School Basketball Leagues on December 15th at the Rec Complex located on Route 19 South of Clarksburg.  The league will have rosters of 8-12 players per team and the players will be responsible for forming teams.

The season will start on December 29th with a Holiday Tourney for the High School teams while the regular season will open in January.
In order for the league to start, a minimum of 8 teams must be formed for both the middle and high school levels.  And cost for the league is $350 per team and a check or money order payable to the Sheriff and Treasurer of Harrison County.  The HCPRC will accept registrations up through December 24th at noon.

“We started the middle and high school leagues with the interest of giving athletes in the county and surrounding areas an opportunity to play a sport in the winter where the competition is good, yet the atmosphere is more friendly,” related Deputy Director Doug Comer.  “The level of play is very strong in our league and because most of the players know each other through various social and sport avenues, there is good sportsmanship among the teams.”

Games will be played at North View Elementary and there will be around 16-20 regular season games and an end of season tourney.
