Little Explorers Wrap Up "Spookology" Unit; Look Forward to Study of Birds

By Julie Perine on October 29, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Bridgeport Parks and Recreation's Little Explorers had a slimy time today at Benedum Civic Center. After completing the messy activity, the children enjoyed a Halloween party with parents contributing healthy foods and holiday goodies. Under the direction of Anita Jesmer, the preschoolers will wrap up the current session on Spookology and will start a unit on birds Nov. 10. The hands-on, creative study will focus on everything from prehistoric birds to peacocks.

The four-week session will run through Dec. 8 with two class time options. A Monday/Wednesday class will be held from 6-6:45 p.m.  and a Tuesday/Thursday class will take place from 10-10:45 a.m. All classes will be held at the Benedum Civic Center on Main Street, Bridgeport.

The classes are open to children age three to seven. Cost of registration is $30 for the four-week session.

Those interested can sign up at the Benedum Civic Center office and Jesmer recommends early registration as class sizes are limited and always popular. To contact Bridgeport Parks and Recreation, call 304-842-8240. Jesmer can be reached at 304-669-6416.
