For Those Who Are Overworked & Overwhelmed, Staci Unger Opens Personal Concierge Business

By Julie Perine on May 11, 2013 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Staci Unger has put her finger on something: People are overwhelmed and short on time.

That’s the reason she has opened up time4u, LLC, a personal concierge business offering a full range of services – from errand running to party planning.

A Bridgeport native and 1989 BHS graduate, Unger is a former project coordinator the West Virginia High Tech Consortium Foundation. Before that, she served for 13 years as manager of Kelly Services in Fort Hood, Texas. That combined experience has given Unger a good handle on the types of services needed most and enabled her to develop a focus on how to best serve the public with efficiency and dependability.

A couple of personal experiences led her to pursue her brand new home-based Bridgeport business.

“I moved back from Texas a few years ago when both my father and grandmother were ill and my mother and I cared for them. They have both since passed,” she said. “Then, last year I had a car wreck and shattered my arm.”

Both instances made Unger realize that the assistance of family and friends is invaluable. She also realized that not everyone was fortunate enough to have relative and friends who they could call upon in their own city of residence – or that if they did, sometimes they were up against a time element.

When she was laid off from WV High Tech Consortium Foundation, she decided to make a big change in her life.

“I didn’t want to sit behind a desk anymore,” she said. “I wanted to do something I really cared about and could make a difference.”
In Mid-April, Unger launched time4u, LLC and within the past few weeks, she has delved into providing services from graduation party planning to reorganization of financial records.

To further broaden the scope of services available, Unger has joined forces with her friend and landscaper, Richard Gifford, who also offers various handyman chores.

They are available to serve busy professionals, seniors, parents, two-career families or anyone else in need of services.
“We have two distinct audiences – those with no time and those with no ability,” Unger said.

Services advertised include – but are not limited to - dry cleaning drop off and pick-up, banking, mail services, package and floral delivery, copying and printing, meal delivery, pet taxi for veterinary or grooming, grocery/attire/holiday shopping, gift wrapping, returns and exchanges, non-medical senior care services, hospital and home visits, companionship, appointment scheduling, in-home wait services, personal bookkeeping and bill paying, document delivery, computer and software support, home organization, garage sale set-up, packing and a full range of interior/exterior maintenance.

But time4u is flexible and willing to try to accommodate their clients in saving them time and saving them from stress.

Base charge is $20 per hour with a one-hour minimum. Each additional hour is billed in 30-minute increments.
