After Months of Expansion Talk for Big 12 Conference, Things Appear to be "Cooling Off" at the Moment

According to this report from OUDaily.com, after months of speculation, Big 12 expansion might not be as sure of a thing as people thought.
“I don’t anticipate any dramatic action on expansion this summer,” OU President and chair of the Big 12 Board of Directors David Boren said Tuesday morning.

“I think we should just sort of take our time on expansion, not rush it this summer, not try to push anything through,” Boren said.

In late May, right around the time the Baylor scandal broke, expansion was a hot topic around Big 12 water coolers. Schools like Memphis and Houston were being talked about everywhere as potential additions to the conference to bring its total membership back up to 12 teams and give it a more level playing field with the other Power Five conferences when it came time to decide participants in the College Football Playoff.
