Bridgeport boys and girls were victorious in WVSSAC Class AAA-AA Region II Section 1 high school soccer action Tuesday evening at Wayne Jamison Field.

The boys played first, beating Grafton 6-2, advancing to the sectional championship Thursday at Robert C. Byrd.

The Lady Indians followed suit, beating RCB 2-1 and moving on to the sectional championship Thursday at Liberty High School.

The girls’ game went scoreless in the first half. It was Madison Ware who first fired a shot in the second half, putting the Lady Indians up 1-0. Emily McCarthy found the net next, securing a 2-0 lead. With just a few minutes on the clock, an in-the-box goal was called on BHS, resulting in an automatic penalty kick for the Lady Eagles.
