After knocking Nitro out of the running for the WVSSAC Class AA volleyball title, the Lady Indians - again in three straight sets - claimed the semifinal victory over Independence this evening. Coach Ali Burton said her girls came out on the court ready to go, focused and playing as one, outscoring the Patriots 25-17, 25-16 and 25-8.

The Tribe plays Saturday for the state title, taking on the Colts of Philip Barbour High School. That game, to be played at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, begins at 9:30 a.m.

"We would love to see a wave of red, black and white to support these hard-working girls," Burton said.

At this morning's match with Nitro, BHS claimed three consecutive sets - 25-9, 25-14 and 25-13.
