The Bridgeport High School golf team placed in the Top 5 at Monday’s Big 10 Conference Golf Championship.

The Indians finished with a score of 288 which put them in a tie for fourth place with Grafton.

North Marion captured its first Big 10 title since 2012 with a score of 265, two strokes ahead of runner-up Robert C. Byrd (267). Buckhannon-Upshur was third at 269.

Drew Hogue had the top individual score for the Tribe at 92, which also earned him a spot on the all-Big 10 Conference first team.
Josh Gervais and Marra Johnson finished at 97 and 99, respectively and each made second-team all-conference.

Mitchell Duez also competed for the Indians and shot a 113.

Only the three top individual scores went toward a team’s cumulative score.

North Marion’s Michael Harris shot a 74 to take low medalist honors and he was also chosen as the league’s player of the year. Coach of the Year honors went to Robert C. Byrd’s Basil Lucas.

Joining Harris and Hogue as first-team all-conference selections were Grafton’s Chris Miller, RCB’s Andrew Bowie, B-U’s Issac Lane, B-U’s Evan Coffman, North Marion’s Dylan Runner, RCB’s Alex Hawkins, RCB’s Tyler Stemple and Fairmont Senior’s Zach Morgan.
