A former member of the Bridgeport High School football team, Noah Tomblin, will continue his career at the next level having signed his national letter of intent to attend the University of Charleston.

Tomblin will play on the offense line and be a long snapper for the Golden Eagles and he plans to go into pharmacy.

“The biggest part of my decision was their academic program,” Tomblin said. “I want to become a pharmacist and going there will guarantee me a spot in their pharmacy school.

“I really didn’t think I was going to go on and play college football but a door opened for me and I took the opportunity.”

Tomblin last played football for BHS in 2018. He appeared in five career games for the Indians and posted 10 tackles, including two for a loss, and a pair of fumble recoveries as a defensive tackle.

Moving to the next level and still being in close proximity to home is something else that has Tomblin excited about his decision.

“I like being close to friends and family,” Tomblin said.

UC being in the Mountain East Conference also means a schedule that features schools Tomblin has some familiarity with like Glenville State and Fairmont State.

“It feels nice knowing I will be playing against those teams because I grew up watching those teams,” Tomblin said."
