Bridgeport High School sophomore point guard Gabby Reep has been selected as a Class AAAA girls basketball first-team All-State selection.

The team was announced today by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Reep averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game for the Indians, who finished their first season in AAAA with a record of 9-5.

“Gabby controls everything for our team and has her biggest games versus the best opponents while being guarded by their best defensive player,” BHS coach Herman Pierson said.

Two senior players for the Indians, Annamarie Pinti and Paige Humble, were named honorable mention selections.

Pinti averaged 10.7 points per game in addition to 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals.

“Annamarie is far and away our best shooter,” Pierson said. “She was playing the best of her career over her last five games and shooting close to 60 percent.”

Humble, who will continue her basketball career next year at Glenville State, averaged nearly a double-double with 11.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game to go along with 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals.

“Paige is our best rebounder and most versatile player being able to play inside and outside,” Pierson said. “She went over 1,000 points for her career at Bridgeport, ending up with 1,272 points in four years.”

George Washington’s Kalissa Lacy was named the captain of the first team all-state team. Lacy was the state player of the year in 2020 and averaged 23.1 points per game leading the Patriots to the Class AAAA semifinals.
