The Class AAA No. 2 Bridgeport High School baseball team picked up another win against a highly-ranked team, knocking off No. 3 Morgantown, 13-3 on Tuesday.

The Indians, now 19-3, scored four runs in the bottom of the first, the big hit being a two-run double from Mark Biafore.

Morgantown (16-6) stormed back with three in the top of the second but the Tribe’s Zach Rohrig led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo homer to spark a three-run inning. The Indians tacked on six more runs in the sixth to force the mercy rule.

Biafore hit another two-run double in the sixth. Conner Blake drove in a run with a double and Jacob Stavrakis hit his second home run in as many days.

Blake finished 3-for-4, while Rohrig, Biafore and Grant Lively each had two hits. Lively also drove in two.

Rowen Michaelis picked up the win, scattering three hits over six innings with four strikeouts.

It marked the second straight game that the BHS offense put up double digit runs as the Indians routed North Marion, 18-1, on Monday.

Blake was 4-for-4 with three runs scored against the Huskies. Biafore was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Michaelis had two hits and drive in two. Ashton Curry finished with two hits, including a triple. Michael Romano had two hits and two RBIs. Sam Romano doubled and Stavrakis homered.

Ben Bifano went the full five innings, allowing four hits, one run, three walks and striking out four.

The Indians are back home today against University.
