BHS Wrestling Strong in Day One of State Meet as Hineman, Gibson Brothers Get Wins to Advance

Bridgeport had a successful first day on the mats at the Class AA-A State Wrestling tournament as all three of its qualifiers won their respective matches in competition at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington.
 
Tribe sophomore Austin Gibson moved to 29-9 on the year. He upended sophomore Colton Clark of Ravenswood.
 
Younger brother Aidan Gibson also advanced and moved to 27-5 on the year.  The BHS freshman pinned sophomore Isaiah Giordano of Herbert Hoover.
 
The most experienced of the BHS wrestlers was also victorious on day one of the meet.  Junior Cooper Hineman, who is now 32-7, toppled Oak Glenn's Wyatt Sturm.
 
Round two of the action begins late this afternoon. Competition is estimated to begin at 11:30 a.m.
