Bridgeport Middle's Softball Season Begins as Braves Coach Bill Estok Announces Members of Squad

A sure sign that spring is just around the corner is the start of tryouts for middle school girls softball teams across the state of West Virginia. For Bridgeport Middle School, tryouts began Feb. 25, 2019.
 
At the conclusion of tryouts, 20 student athletes were selected as members of 2019 Lady Braves softball team. They are Kaitlyn Archer-Lewis, Abbey Clifton, Molly Enfield, Lilliana Fuehner, Maddie Garner, Rachel Mason, Mackenzi Matheny,  Chloe Pethtel, Maddie Stallman, Skylar Elliott, Kaylie Kwiatkowski, Jacey Laxton, Kylie Lynch, Kileigh Pugh, Kyleigh Anderson, Kylie Brooks, Addie Gregory, Sadie Hamrick, Renzy Pethtel, and Danika Prescott.
 
The team has been practicing every day after school to prepare for the first game and the upcoming season. The Lady Braves start the season at home today, Tuesday, March 19, against the South Harrison Lady Hawks.
 
Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the Bridgeport Softball Field located directly behind BMS.
 
The Lady Braves will also have a new member on their coaching staff this season. Sonny Pethtel will be the new assistant softball coach. Returning as head coach for his 10th season is Billy Estok.
