Bridgeport Resident Chris George Does Interview with Steelers Takeaway on His Experience in the NFL

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on August 15, 2022 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Life has been good for Bridgeport resident Chris George. Married and with a thriving family and career, George lives in the present. However, it would be easy to rewind to the past.

Few in Bridgeport, or in the area or state for that matter, have the athletic background George calls his own. Along with being a standout at the now defunct Roosevelt-Wilson in multiple sports, he was an All-American in football at then Glenville State College, before getting stints in the Canadian Football League and a short stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During his time in college, George smashed multiple records and has been nominated, once again, to be inducted into the college football hall of fame. Recently, an online news source for Pittsburgh's NFL franchise, Steelers Takeaway, sat down with George to talk about his time with the squad.

George was with the team during the 1996-97 seasons.

The interview, which is hyperlinked below, includes multiple unique stories about George's time in the NFL and competing with and against players like Jerome Bettis and Kevin Greene. There is also a fantastic story about Chris' father meeting Bettis and what Bettis did for him.
