Bridgeport's Dodd, Pierce Earn Class AAAA Honorable Mention All-State Status

A pair of Bridgeport High School girls basketball players, Jaylin Dodd and Reese Pierce, have earned honorable mention status on the Class AAAA All-State team as selected by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
 
Class AAAA state champion Wheeling Park led the way on first team with three selections led by reigning player of the year Alexis Bordas, who was named the first-team captain for the second consecutive year.
 
Bordas, a junior, averaged 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
 
Also for the Patriots, junior LaLa Woods is a repeat first-team selection. She averaged 16. 3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.2 steals.
 
Bordas and Woods are joined on first team by senior teammate Natalie Daugherty, who averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.6 steals.
 
George Washington is represented on the first team by the duo of Zaniah Zellous and Finley Lohan.
 
Zellous led GW in scoring at 18.2 points and averaged a double-double as she pulled down 12.1 rebounds per game to go along with 3.8 blocks per game.
 
Lohan averaged 15.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest.
 
Freshman Kayli Kellogg made an immediate impact for state runner-up Morgantown and earned a first-team spot. She put up 16.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
 
Rounding out the first team are Parkersburg’s Trinity Balog and Spring Valley’s Allie Daniels.
 
Morgantown’s Sofia Wassick was named the second-team captain. Two more players for the Mohigans earned second-team honors in Lilly Jordan and Sadaya Jones.
 
The rest of the second team consists of Huntington’s Amara Jackson, Greenbrier East’s Kennedy Stewart, University’s Ella Simpson, St. Albans’ Nunu Pannell and George Washington’s Jerriyah Pryor.
