Alderson Broaddus University Athletic Director and Head Sprint Football Coach Dennis Creehan announced Brad Jett as the Associate Head Sprint Football Coach.

Jett joins the Alderson Broaddus staff after 34 years, 20 as the head football coach, at South Harrison high school.

"Adding a coach with the kind of experience Brad has is invaluable to a startup program," Creehan said. "We are excited to add Brad to our staff and look forward to getting the program started in the fall."

In his tenure at South Harrison, Jett posted a record of 131-77 and appeared in the state playoffs 10 times. The Hawks tallied four 10-win seasons under his direction.

Jett led South Harrison to seven state quarterfinals appearances and also reached two semifinals while he was the defensive coordinator. The Hawks boasted nine first-team all-state selections under Jett.

Jett will direct the Alderson Broaddus sprint football program while Creehan is taking his leave of absence to coach the Salt Lake City Stallions of the Alliance of American Football.

"It is truly an honor to coach at a great institution like Alderson Broaddus and to help build a program from the ground up," Jett said. "I am appreciative for the opportunity to learn from a quality coach and person in Denny Creehan and to join the staff at Alderson Broaddus."

The AB sprint football team is currently recruiting players to begin competition in the fall of 2019 and will compete in the Collegiate Sprint Football League.

Sprint Football is the same as regular football, but it has a weight limit of 178 pounds according to an official with the Alderson Broaddus Sports Information Department. The Battlers will compete against several Division I programs such as Navy and Army, which have similar programs.
