What’s your favorite movie?
The Maze Runner trilogy.

Who is the best high school athlete you have competed against?
This is tough because there are a lot of good ones to choose from but I’d say Ada McCoy from Musselman.

Favorite subject in school?
English.

Any pre-match superstitions or rituals?
I just really have to listen to music. Sometimes I get a strawberry banana smoothie but usually it’s just music.

Any particular music?
Drake, probably.

How do you best describe Coach Ali Burton?
She’s very strong-willed and very competitive but she also resonates very well with the team. She holds us to high standards, but she knows the line between volleyball and personal life. She’s really amazing.

Celebrity Crush?
Either Chris Hemsworth or Michael B. Jordan

Who’s the funniest player on the BHS volleyball team?
I would probably say Sam Martin. She’s hilarious.

If they would let you have a walk-up song, what’s playing?
Not finished by Lil Baby

What match of your career sticks out the most?
Our win over Philip Barbour this season. I got so many compliments on our team chemistry, and how we played. The environment was so much fun. I wouldn’t trade that whole experience for my life.

You play libero, and that’s a position casual fans don’t understand If you had to explain to someone what a libero is and does, how would you describe it?
Grit and drive but also you just have to be happy to be being playing that position. You can’t play libero unless you are all in.

Thanksgiving is coming up, for Thanksgiving dinner what is the one side dish that has to be there?
Mashed potatoes have to be there.

Gravy or no gravy?
It depends. It has to be good gravy and I feel like it should be white gravy.

Favorite meal?
Spaghetti. I love spaghetti. You can’t go wrong with pasta.

Favorite pro or college athlete?
Zoe Fleck. She played for Texas, UCLA and now she’s playing professional volleyball.

Favorite pro or college team?
Texas.

If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?
Definitely Greece.

What’s one thing it seems like everybody you know likes but you can’t stand?
Watermelon. I think it is nasty.

What’s the best thing on TV right now?
Friends or Impractical Jokers both are very funny shows.

What is your go-to concession stand order?
Popcorn and a water.

You wake up tomorrow as a superhero, what do you want your power to be?
Telekinesis

Do the Christmas tree and Christmas decorations go up before Thanksgiving or after?
I think you have to wait until Black Friday. You have to get through Thanksgiving first.

What is the most important thing being an athlete at BHS has taught you?
Accountability and being able to have your own personal victories while being there for people and that’s in sports or out of sports, and that’s in school with academics.

Every match, our photographer Joe LaRocca seems to get a photo of you and (teammate) Salam Rajjoub posing together. Is there a story behind that?
We’ve been really good friends for a really long time and I remember one day we were like, “Joe, Joe, take our picture.” And we just made it our thing. We do it, almost like a pre-game ritual but it’s also just for the memories.

There’s a young kid in the community just getting into football what advice do you give him or her?
You have to want to work. You have to put in the time. But also, always, just have fun and have someone you can look up to. If you are ever struggling, you can look to them. There’s a lot of people in the community who are willing to help.

Was there a player you looked up to coming up?
I looked up to Cambria Freeman and Alexa Martin. Cambria was the libero before me. Alexa was just such a great leader.
