Who is the best high school athlete you have competed against?
Dianna Goodman from Winfield. She won pole vault in AA and set the record. I pole vaulted against her at Hurricane and was just blown out of the water.

Favorite subject in school?
Math or French
Any pre-meet superstitions or rituals?
I try to keep everything normal. I just do what I would normally do on a regular day.
You have to go into quarantine, what three items do you make sure you have with you?
Obviously my phone, a nice comfortable blanket and my friends and family.
What meet of your career sticks out the most?
Definitely states but if not states, regionals because I got first at regionals.
Can you describe Coach Grant Burton in one word?
Fun. He’s definitely fun, very serious but fun.
Celebrity Crush?
Ian Somerhalder.
Who’s the funniest athlete on the BHS track and field team?
Probably Bailey Tomes or Grace Backus. They are both so much fun.
If you could have theme music when you come out for a match, what song is playing?
The Barbie theme song.
Where’s one place in the world you have never been to that you would like to visit?
Sweden
Favorite meal?
Steak. My Dad cooks steak every Friday. I love it.
Favorite pro or college athlete?
Ryan Cummings. She’s an all-star cheerleader.
Favorite pro or college team?
The Dallas Cowboys.
What’s one track and field event you have never done but would like to try?
They don’t have it in high school but I really would like to try javelin. I keep telling Grant that all the time and he thinks it’s the funniest thing but I think I would be kind of good at it. Or one of the throwing events would be fun.
It’s been a rough year for everybody, what’s one positive you can take from it?
Just the experience being of being on the track team. I had only done middle school track but I like this a lot better. It’s a lot more serious.
The coolest animal at the zoo?
The monkey.
Most memorable sports moment you have had as a fan?
Probably when I watched the cheer team win regionals the year before I was on the team when I was in eighth grade.
What’s one thing it seems like everybody you know likes but you can’t stand?
Sometimes I really don’t like school.
The best thing on TV right now is?
I like watching reality TV shows like Dance Moms, I really like that one.
You have control of the stereo in the car, what’s playing?
Probably just any kind of country music.
What is the most important thing being an athlete at BHS has taught you?
To always be there for your team.
There’s a young kid in the community just getting into track and field or cheerleading, what advice do you give him or her?
Never give up. Even through COVID, I just wanted to pole vault and I wanted to cheer and I didn’t give up.
