Grafton Graduate, Fairmont State Senior, Musgrove, Nets D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team Honors

The Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region baseball teams and award winners were announced today as Fairmont State's Zachary Musgrove was tabbed to the first team this afternoon.

Musgrove, a senior from Grafton, W.Va., wrapped up his Fighting Falcon career as he landed on the All-Mountain East Conference First Team last week and his first team selection in his collegiate career. Musgrove finished the 2022 campaign as he led Fairmont State in the major categories of batting average (.362), hits (59), doubles (14), triples (3), RBIs (51), and tied for home runs on the season at eight with Justin Brown. Musgrove made 49 starts on the season and registered a slugging percentage of. Musgrove also ended his Falcon collegiate career with the career home run record with 32.

In his four-year career at Fairmont State, Musgrove had a slash line of .322/.421/.594, which represents batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. Musgrove saw action in 153 games in his standout career and tallied 166 total hits with 38 doubles, three triples, 306 total bases, 144 RBIs, and 84 walks.

In 2020, Musgrove earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as a Business Administration major on campus.

Under first-year head coach Matt Yurish, the Fighting Falcons had an overall record of 27-22 and were named MEC North Division Co-Champions with their conference record of 22-10. Yurish was also named MEC Coach of the Year in 2022.
