The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational, scheduled for Oct. 19-20 at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia, has been postponed until April 12-13, 2021, golf coach Sean Covich announced Friday.

“Traditionally, we host our home tournament in early October, but this season, we have seen many changes to our schedule,” Covich said. “Luckily, we are still able to host the tournament this year as the new dates of April 12-13 will fit perfectly in our spring season. Once we hold this year’s Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational in April, we will go back to hosting the event in October for the 2021-22 season.

“Our fall season was anything but normal, but we were fortunate to participate in the prestigious Colonial Collegiate Invitational and Big 12 Match Play Tournament last week. Our guys will use the next few months to play some amateur events and get ready for the spring season, which is our main competition season.”

The Mountaineers will now begin preparations for their spring season, which is slated to begin in mid-February. The complete spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
