Indians, Jackson, Grafton Take Top Honors at Harrison County Cross Country Championships

Two of Bridgeport’s runners took individual championships at Friday’s Harrison County Cross Country Championships, held at Bridgeport Recreation Complex and the Tribe took top honors as a team.
 
Jackson Jacobs took first place for the boys, completing the course in 17:10.62, just seconds over the Tribe’s Cade Robinson, who finished in 17:36.84. The Indians’ Trey Martin, Cole Bracken, Brennan Cropp, Landon Burns, Kyle McCarthy and Caleb Holbert finished fourth through ninth places, respectively.
 
For the Lady Indians, Emerson Grafton was the top finisher, completing the course in 21:31.02. Bridgeport’ Emma Campbell finished fifth in 23:51.21 and Brooke Wagner, Allison Hess and Kaitlin Pappas also finished in the top 10, taking eighth, ninth and 10th place, respectively.
Bridgeport’s team victory was earned with a total time of 1:59:05.98 and 33 points. Notre Dame took second with 65 points, Liberty, third with 67 points and Robert C. Byrd, fourth with 69 points.
