It's Back: Get Your Fix of Bridgeport Football Action - Past & Present - with "Now and Then" Video Series

By Julie Perine on August 29, 2014 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

You loved it last year, so it has returned. Coinciding with the kick-off of 2014 Bridgeport High School Varsity Football is Connect-Bridgeport’s second annual “Now and Then” video series.

To run weekly in conjunction with Indian action, the series will showcase back-to-back video interviews – one with a current BHS senior player and one with a former player. We’ll talk Indian football as recently as the 2012 season and as far back as the mid-1960s when the I formation was first introduced.

The video series will deliver some interesting facts about Indians from years gone by. They will share what they are doing professionally and tell us about their families. And, of course, there will be plenty of game stories featuring everything from fumbles to record runs; not to mention vivid memories of coaches and their winning strategies.

On the flipside, “Now and Then” will introduce us to senior members of The Tribe; the position each plays, what drives them to be part of the Indian football team and even some of the former players who inspired them.

This year’s “Now and Then” video series is brought to you by Carder Motors Inc. We thank this local business for stepping up to sponsor the popular series. Putting it together requires teamwork. Facilitating the senior Indian interviews is Luke Nesler of Nesler Media. Julie Perine interviews the former players and Connect-Bridgeport’s digital media specialist Hannah Cantrell edits the videos and puts it all together with her own creative spin.

“Now and Then” is intended to fuel the fire of community spirit that is known to stand behind our team and perhaps teach you a few things you didn’t already know about the Indian football program – past and present. Tune in Fridays to catch it all and see who’s been paired up to star in the series as a two-man team.

Today's kick-off video stars Brandon Hartz, currently playing offensive guard and middle linebacker for the Tribe and Chris Kerr, who played under Coach Wayne Jamison in the mid 1990s.

The Indians face Buckhannon-Upshur in a home contest tonight at Wayne Jamison Field. The remainder of this year's regular season is as follows:

Sept. 5 - at Wheeling Park
Sept. 12 - Lewis County
