Lady Braves Softball Team Set to Open 2017 Slate

After several days of tryouts and numerous days of practice, the Bridgeport Middle School (BMS) Lady Braves softball team is ready for the start of the 2017 season.  The Lady Braves were to the season with a road game against Robert L. Bland Middle School in Lewis County today, but that game has been postponed..
 
No makeup date has been set. The team will now open the season on the road Thursday against Mountaineer Middle Scholl at 4:30 p.m.
 
Due to weather woes, please check with players, coaches or school administrators to see if that game will be played as scheduled.
 
The team is comprised of nine eighth graders, six seventh graders, and five sixth graders.  The eighth graders include Makenzie Earp, Ashley Hart, Shea Hefner, Johnna Hull, Paige Humble, Olivia Kesling, Corinne Lalama, Cheyenne Martin, and Lyda Sandy.  The seventh graders are Maci Cook, Emma Jones, Makenna Smith, Sydney Snyder, Lilly Strait, and Katie Via.  The sixth grade team members are Abby Clifton, Molli Enfield, Maddie Garner,  Rachel Mason, and Mackenzi Matheny.
 
Entering her second season as the Lady Braves assistant softball coach is Audra Sczerba.  Billy Estok is the coach for BMS.
