The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission has released the sectional and regional alignment that will be in place at the start of the 2024-25 school year and run through the 2027-28 school year and there are big changes coming for Bridgeport High School.

Also starting in the fall of 2024, the four-class format will be in place for football, volleyball, baseball, softball and cheer in addition to boys and girls basketball, which have been four classes since 2020.

The Indians were in Class AAAA for basketball the past four seasons but will drop down to Class AAA, for which they will also be classified in football, volleyball, baseball, softball and cheer.

For volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball and softball, BHS will be in Class AAA Region I, Section 2 along with Lincoln, Robert C. Byrd and Lewis County. The other side of the region in Section 1 will consist of Berkeley Springs, Hampshire, Keyser and Frankfort.

There is no sectional breakdown for cheer so the Indians will be in Class AAA Region II along with Lincoln, Robert C. Byrd, Lewis County, Berkeley Springs, Hampshire, Keyser and Frankfort.

The football postseason does not have a sectional or regional format and is determined by the WVSSAC football playoff ratings system.
