Media Report: Another WVU Player Could be Leaving as First-Year Player Enters Name in Transfer Portal

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 18, 2019 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Several media sources, including this report from 247sports.com, is saying another West Virginia University men's basketball player may be competing somewhere else next year. They say that, according to a source, freshman guard Trey Doomes has entered the transfer portal.

By entering the portal, however, it doesn't mean Doomes cannot return to play at WVU.

In the story from 247sports.com, it states that "Doomes was scheduled to be redshirted at the start of the season, but after a poor start to conference play, Head Coach Bob Huggins brought him off the bench against Oklahoma State back in January. Despite rave reviews from Huggins, Doomes would only play sparingly the rest of the season."
