By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 27, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Florida State and West Virginia are close to finalizing an agreement to open the 2020 season in Atlanta, sources told ESPN's Brett McMurphy. Earlier, the Gazette-Mail in Charleston reported the same thing.

The game would be played Sept. 5, 2020, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

This will be the fourth meeting between the Seminoles and Mountaineers, but their first in the regular season. All previous meetings were FSU wins in the Gator Bowl: 2010 (33-21), 2005 (30-18) and 1982 (31-12).

FSU is coached by Clarksburg native Jimbo Fisher. Click HERE for the rest of the report.
