NDHS's Dream Hoops Season Continues as West is Class A First Team Captain; Zummo on Third Unit

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 21, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The 2016-17 West Virginia boys Class A All-State Team, as voted upon by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association. Not surprisingly, Notre Dame's Jarrod West, who led the Fighting Irish to their first state championship, was named captain of the first team.

West's regular season averages of 20.5 points per game with six rebounds, six assists and six steals a game were likely enough to get the Marshall University signee honored. When you consider he upped the ante a bit with 26.7 points, 6.2 boards and 6.3 assists a game - along with 3 steals - in the state tournament and he was a virtual lock.

Gabe Zummo, the Irish's sophomore long-range bomber, was named to the third team. NDHS had two honorable mention selections in Noah Bohanna and Jarrett Mullooly, while South Harrison's Cam Barnette was also recognized.
