One player from Notre Dame who previously lived in the Bridgeport feeder system and two athletes from Big 10 Conference will make up part of the North Bears roster for this Friday's North-South Basketball Classic being held at the Charleston Community Center.

State Player of the Year and Class A all-state captain Jarrod West of Notre Dame, who will compete next year at Marshall University, is on the North roster. Coaching West will be another with ties to Notre Dame.

Musselman Coach Derek Basile, who starred at Notre Dame in the 1990s, is the coach. His father, the late Angelo Basile, was one of the Irish's and the state's coaching legends.

Philip Barbour's Austin Upton will be on the North team as well. The Colts finished with one of their best years in recent memory.

Rounding out the local selections is Fairmont Senior's Justin Lee. Lee played an integral part of the Polar Bears as they captured their second straight Class AA state championship this March in Charleston.

The skills competition will begin at 6 p.m. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
