One King Sports is hosting its second Game Day of Giving, collecting donations for two local organizations. On September 30, OKS will utilize its flag football/cheer and  volleyball programs to put our faith into action and collect donated items for the Clarksburg Mission and the Life Choice Pregnancy Resource Center.

"Anyone can stop by and give a donation," said OKS Co-Founder Ricky Hitt. "We hope to blow it out of the water for these two organizations."

Game Day of Giving has quicky become a tradition for the faith-based youth athletic ministry, which until its new building is completed is basing operations out of Horizons Church in Lost Creek.

"We started our game day of giving tradition during last basketball season and have decided to continue the tradition this year," Hitt said.
Flag/cheer will be collecting donations for the Clarksburg Mission during their game day, Saturday, Sept. 30 at Horizons Church. The volleyball league - new this year to OKS - will be collecting for Life Choice Pregnancy Center at their game at the Nathan Golf Armory in Clarksburg.

Both games start at 9 a.m and donations will be accepted through noon.

"As a Christian sports ministry, we think it is very important for us to share God's love and love our neighbors," he said. "We want to use this game day of giving as an opportunity for not only our players and parents, but others in the community to share the love of God with those in need."

On the wish list for the Clarksburg Mission are canned food items, diapers, shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream, soap, clothes, shoes, toothpaste, deodorant and children's board games.

For Life Choice Pregnancy Center, suggested items are diapers, baby formula, nasal aspirators, cribs, thermometers, bassinets, infant Tylenol, baby wipes and baby oil.

In January of this year, OKS held a very successful Game Day of Giving to benefit Help on the Horizons, the food pantry of Horizons Church, as well as Genesis Youth Crisis Center.

Hundreds of kids are involved in OKS athletic programs, many from Bridgeport, as well as from throughout Harrison, Marion and Lewis counties.
