Paige, Williams Named Co-MVPS for 2016 Season for West Virginia University Men's Basketball Team

Senior Jaysean Paige and junior Devin Williams were named co-Most Valuable Players of the WVU men’s basketball team at the squad’s 2015-16 banquet, held Monday in Morgantown.
 
Paige, who led the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game, was named the Big 12 Conference Sixth Man of the Year and to the All-Big 12 Second Team. A native of Jamestown, N.Y., he became the first non-starter in school history to lead the Mountaineers in scoring.
           
Williams, who averaged 13.3 points and led the Big 12 in rebounding at 9.5 boards per contest, was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team. The native of Cincinnati became WVU’s 50th 1,000-point scorer and was only the 11th player in school history to score more than 1,000 points and grab more than 800 rebounds.
           
Other award winners were Paige (Sixth Man), Tarik Phillip (Unsung Hero), Jevon Carter (Best Defender), James Long (Team Man), Jonathan Holton (Charge Leader) and Nathan Adrian (Most Improved).
           
The Mountaineers finished the 2015-16 season with 26 victories, a runner-up finish in the Big 12 regular season and championship and finished No. 8 in the final Associated Press poll.
