Salem University’s players and coaches have volunteered their time to help train 40 local 8U-16U athletes in all aspects of the game from hitting, fielding, pitching and catching to overall skill development. It has been hands-on training along with individualized coaching,
Salem is a key contributor to BGSA’s Winter Training Program that takes place once a week for two hours during the cold-weather months. Winter training is crucial for player development, especially in areas like West Virginia with harsh winter weather, as it provides a consistent opportunity to refine skills, and maintain conditioning, through indoor workouts.

Those involved with the program stated that the benefits go beyond softball. They pointed to seeing the benefits of experienced athletes benefiting from dedication, teamwork, and leadership look like and the value of hard work.
Individuals wishing to support the Salem University softball team do not have to travel far to do so.
