In the championship game, Bridgeport came from behind to beat Fairmont 7-5 and claim the state title. In the sixth inning, Ben McDougal drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game 5-5 as Braden Bastin crossed the plate. Ryan Hall picked up the win. Bastin led the team at the plate with a four for four performance and three runs.

“Overall, this team showed resiliency throughout the tournament,” Blake said. “Some of them have played over 75 baseball games this year. They love the game of baseball, they pray together before every game, and they believe they can win no matter who they are playing.  They understand that we have to give the glory to God for this performance and he has blessed them with a state championship just like the older kids before them that they look to as role models.  Also, they are very fortunate to have a great support system that includes Bridgeport Little League and family members of this team that really care about them and encourage them to be goal oriented individuals.”
