The Bridgeport High School girls put on a great showing today at the West Virginia University Natatorium in the West Virginia High School state championship swim meet. The effort by the Indians helped them to finish in second place in the competition.

The solid showing comes on the heels of this afternoon's state title win by the boys. The showings by both teams solidy the Indians as one of the state swimming powers.

Parkersburg won the competition with 170 points. Bridgeport finished just behind with 163 points as it came to the wire.

The rest of the top five included Wheeling Park with 143, Fairmont Senior with 108 points, and Hurricane with 95.
