"Voice of the Indians" Travis Jones Featured on ESPN Web Site Calling MEC Game with Play in Top 10

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 30, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

He's called thousands of plays during his decades of work as the "Voice of the Indians" at Wayne Jamison Field and other venues. He also has called thousands of other games from West Virginia University  women's sports to now doing games for Fairmont State University and the Mountain East Conference.

On Thursday, Jones was doing his usual solid work behind the microphone on MEC's Thursday Game of the Week between West Virginia Wesleyan and West Liberty. During that game, the contest's first score was called by Jones and ended with a dramatic  touchdown.

As it turned out, the video made it to ESPN's night's "Top 10" plays  of the day segment. And if you go to the ESPN Web site, the play is there - as well as Jones' calling of it.
