West Virginia University sophomore cornerback Daryl Worley was reinstated to the football program by Coach Dana Holgorsen Wednesday, according to a release from the school. In September, Worley turned himself in to the Morgantown Police Department without incident after the warrant was issued for his arrest.

Worley was charged with battery relating to an incident on Sept. 14. Worley allegedly put his hands around the neck of a woman and pushed her to the ground. Since then, Worley entered a "no contest" plea, according to Holgorsen.

“Earlier today, I fully reinstated Daryl Worley to our football program.  The decision came after Daryl pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an incident back in September.

“As I have said many times, we have a high standard of conduct that we expect our student-athletes and our coaches to live up to and, in this instance, Daryl failed to meet those expectations.  However, since arriving in Morgantown, Daryl has done many good things and many things right, on and off the field, and I am confident that he will be a better man and teammate moving forward," Holgorsen's statement concluded.
