According to MetroNews, Donavan Beaver knew West Virginia was seeking to stockpile offensive linemen in its 2019 class, so on Sunday he became the first to commit.

The 6-foot-7, 295-pound tackle from Spotsylvania, Va., is a Rivals three-star prospect.

Virginia and Virginia Tech were the first to offer, before a flurry of Power 5 programs jumped aboard, including Florida, Louisville, North Carolina, N.C. State and Pitt.

Ultimately he became the Mountaineers’ sixth overall commitment of the cycle.

“I like West Virginia because I like the coaches, I like the campus and I love Morgantown. It’s one of the coolest places I’ve ever been,” he told Rivals.

Beaver proclaimed his recruitment “over” and told the Fredericksburg Free Lance Star that he wanted to make his choice before classes began filling up this fall.
