WVU Football Team Gets Needed Boost as Iowa Senior Transfers to Mountaineers; Eligible Immediately

West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that Maurice Fleming, a 6-0, 205-pound cornerback and a senior transfer from Iowa, has signed a grant-in-aid and will be eligible for the 2016 football season.

• Played in 14 games, recording 17 tackles and five pass breakups
• Recorded three solo tackles and two pass break-ups vs. Illinois State

• Registered one solo tackle, two assists and two pass breakups against North Texas
• Recorded two tackles at Illinois, including one solo stop and one assist

• Recorded first career action against Western Michigan, recording two solo tackles and a forced fumble

• As a junior rushed for 1,003 yards and 17 touchdowns while completing 165-of-265 passes for 2,011 yards and 18 touchdowns
• Recorded 47 tackles and three interceptions on defense
• As a sophomore completed 102-of-198 passes for 1,409 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 502 yards and 11 scores
• Rushed 49 times for 195 yards and a touchdown as a freshman
