WVU Football Team Takes Another Big Blow as Top Recruit Brendan Ferns Lost for Year to Knee Injury

According to this report from MetroNews, four-star recruit Brendan Ferns, poised to serve as West Virginia’s middle linebacker after an impressive preseason camp, was lost for the season to a torn ACL, the school confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, as Ferns awaited an MRI on his left knee, a team source told MetroNews “it does not look good.” The diagnosis bore that out, and now the highly regarded true freshman faces a rehab that likely will keep him on the sideline through spring drills.
