WVU's White, Lambert Earn AP All-America Status

Kevin White and Josh Lambert today were named to the 2014 AP All-America Team, announced by The Associated Press.
In total, 10 Mountaineers have garnered AP All-America honors since 2005. 
 
White, who is the third West Virginia wide receiver to earn AP All-America recognition since 2012, was named to the All-America Second Team.
 
White, a Biletnikoff finalists, set a school record with seven straight games of 100 yards receiving or more to start the season and has 1,318 yards this year, the second most in a single season in school history.
 
Lambert was named to the AP All-America Third Team. He was a Lou Groza Award finalist and set the NCAA record for field goals made of 40 yards or more in a single season (15). He ranks No. 1 nationally in field goals made per game (2.25) and tied a school record with a 55-yard, game-winning field goal at Texas Tech on Oct. 11.
 
White and Lambert each earned spots on the SI.com All-American Team, announced today. White was a second team honoree, while Lambert garnered honorable mention distinctions. Mario Alford joined Lambert on the SI.com All-America Honorable Mention squad as an all-purpose performer.  
 
Alford ranks No. 6 nationally in kickoff return yardage (27.7) and is tied for No. 2 in the NCAA in kickoff returns for a touchdown (2).
 
White now has been named to 10 All-America teams this postseason, Lambert has earned spots on five teams and Alford has landed on three teams. 
 
The Mountaineers continue to practice in preparation for the 2014 AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee, on Dec. 29. Scheduled kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT. The Mountaineers will be making their 33rd bowl appearance.
