On Sunday, Dec. 12, the Progressive Women's Association will be observing its 100th Anniversary.  The event will be held at the Uptown Event Center in Clarksburg.  Also included will be the installation of officers.  The officers for 2022 will be President Betty Waddy, Vice President Laura Davis, Secretary Sharon Twentier, and Treasurer Rosalyn Queen.

Serving as installing officer will be Michael L. Queen, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Communications for the West Virginia Secretary of State. Queen has served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates and as president of the Harrison County Board of Education. He has also been assisting young entrepreneurs in setting up businesses in West Virginia.  Queen will also be serving as MC for the program.

The evening will begin with a delicious meal.  The sponsors for the evening are Davis Funeral Home, Laura Goff Davis and the family of the late Dianne Urchak, a previous member of the PWA.  A special recognition will be held for the YWPA and the MPA, the PWA youth groups.

During the recognition of the 100th birthday, several other Clarksburg businesses who also are being recognized will be acknowledged for their 100th birthday.

The free event is open to PWA members and their guests.  Due to the pandemic restrictions reservations will be limited.  Call 304624 6881 to make reservations.

Let’s get excited for the holidays and celebrate the accomplishments of the PWA and remember “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
