The Grapevine: Author of Book on Civil War History of Harrison County to Hold Local Book Signing Nov. 13

On Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, the Harrison County, West Virginia Historical Society will sponsor a book signing by U.S Army Lieutenant Colonel Peter Taylor.  The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Uptown Event Center in Clarksburg. 
 
The Progressive Women's Association will be sponsoring the reception. 
 
Colonel Taylor will enlighten those in attendance about his book A Civil War History of Harrison County, West Virginia, 1861-1865.  Books will be available to purchase and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Harrison County West Virginia Historical Society.  Colonel Taylor will also be signing the books.
 
Colonel Taylor served three combat tours in Vietnam.  He was designated as a Military Historian and served as such at a number of installations during his career.
 
After his retirement he taught ROTC at Robert C. Byrd High School.  Taylor holds a MS in management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a BA from the University of Nebraska. He is a frequent speaker at local events and he and his wife reside in Clarksburg.
 
“I am a military historian and I have tried to focus this book strictly on the military aspects of Harrison County,” he said.
 
A reception with light deserts will be served by the PWA.  The public is invited to attend, and admission is free.
