Home-Cooked Meals, including Famous Buckwheat Cakes, a Trip North from City to Miller's Eats & Sweets

For those visiting Bridgeport who have already sampled the city's fare or those who are residents of the city and beyond looking for a quick trip for a new culinary experience, here's the latest edition of WBOY's Restaurant Road Trip. And this one is located north of Bridgeport; about an hour away in Preston County.

Kids, adults, anyone who wants a delicious home-cooked meal is welcome at the Masontown restaurant, which opened just a few months ago.
“My husband and I every weekend we would take the kids and the grandkids to Morgantown and eat,” said Miller. “We have said for years that we would like to have something good here to eat and I love to cook. When this building became available I was like hey let’s go look at it. Let’s open a restaurant.”
So Miller did just that, with the help of her family who also work in the restaurant.
They transformed the building with a unique and rustic décor and furniture made by Roger and Carra at Merywood Lane in Westover.
“A lot of times that work life balance you struggle with. The great thing about being here is I can bring my son with me through the day,” said Chasity Harvey, Miller’s Eats & Sweets Manager and Miller’s daughter-in-law. “We have my mother-in-law my sister-in-law, we have everybody here. It’s close to home.”
With a fresh menu to dine-in or take-out that includes all-day breakfast, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and Preston County’s favorite buckwheat cakes, guests never leave hungry.
