According to their social media page, the reopening date for the Sunset Ellis Restaurant will be in February as previously announced on Connect-Bridgeport. However, the post announces the specific date - and it's this week.

 

The restaurant will open Feb. 16.

 

The restaurant closed in June of 2022 after being open for 67 years. At the start of 2023, former owner Anthony Ellis announced that the business will reopen under a lease arrangement with Larry Morgan and his son Rocky. The Morgan duo have many years of food service industry experience.

 

The hours of operation will be 7 a.m.to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The business will be closed Sundays.

 

According to a post of the Sunset Ellis Restaurant Facebook page, here is what to expect.

 

"Although we are not the original owners, we are inspiring this restaurant to give it our own touch. Things will be different, and changes were made so please understand that coming in! With that being said, we want to welcome EVERYONE to come meet the new owners and feel at home with a nice, cooked meal! Rather it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner we will take care of you!"

 

Also, the post said the flea market and the drive-in play to open in April.
