August 15 will mark 26 years in business for John Mosesso and Lil’ Moe’s. It sits right in the heart of downtown Philippi and most of the menu hasn’t changed.

“Most of the original menu is still intact here at Moe’s. We do anything from salads, to hoagies, to burgers to wraps,” said Mosesso.

It’s as locally owned and operated as it gets. Mosesso who went by the nickname Moe as a kid went to WVU and fell in love with the bar and restaurant scene in Morgantown. That’s what led him to bring that vibe to Barbour County.

“I opened up this business here,” said Mosesso. “I thought that Philippi needed a place like this.

But it’s not just the bar you see here. They have a banquet room as well as a second bar right next door.

“We’ve got a good vibe with the community,” said Mosesso.
