With gas prices so low, many people are surprised the airline fuel surcharge fee hasn't gone down.

"Fuel surcharge is basically an additional cost added on to the top of a service or a product that is sold based on the cost of fuel at the time. Airline tickets and all kinds of people have added fuel surcharge like delivery people," said Rick Rock, Executive Director of the North Central West Virginia Airport Authority.

But, rates at the North Central West Virginia Airport have decreased.

"The last month of two, we were able to see some savings. The cost of fuel has gone down. We were the first airline in the area really to decrease our costs and we are the lowest around when it comes to our fuel prices," said Rock.
